2009/10 NBA Season
The Indiana Pacers are suffering from an identity problem. Ever since the 2004/05 playoff exit at the hands of the Detroit Pistons, the Pacers have steadily declined. This year, season ticket holders were hoping that with the drafting of forward Tyler Hansbrough and A. J. Price together with Jeff Foster and Danny Granger would help to produce more wins this season. Unfortunately, both Foster and the rookie Hansbrough have gone down with season ending injuries. The team has amassed a 22-45 record as of this writing and have only the lowly Detroit Pistons behind them.
What happened to the Pacers? They went from being a total contender to breaking down. In such a strong and competitive division, it comes down to winning the necessary games – and critics are wondering if Indiana will be able to find itself, carry on and start winning. Unfortunately for Pacers ticket buyers, the only expectations they can have is for their team not to end at the bottom. Fans can definitely expect the Pacers to have trouble shooting this season.
Previous Seasons
The best thing about Indiana Pacer tickets is that they come with a built-in chance to watch a one-season rebuilding process. This team has the ability to compete this year, but it may not happen with Ron Artest. So Pacer President of Basketball Operations Larry Bird will find some new talent in exchange for Artest, and the team will go forward. OR Bird and Artest will work it out, and the Pacers will make a renewed effort towards the NBA Playoffs after the All-Star Break. Either way, the second half of the season is going to be filled with drama.
Jermaine O’Neal and Jamaal Tinsley will wait out the proceedings and be ready to put together a playoff push in 2006. It is a great time to buy your Indiana Pacer tickets and watch this team’s turnaround in person at Conseco Fieldhouse.
The Pacers always seem to be on the verge. Besides their ABA days, when they were 3-time champs, the Pacers have been marred by their continued inability to make the final steps towards a championship.
Despite the efforts of stars like Billy Knight, Wayman Tisdale, Chuck Person, and Reggie Miller; the Pacers were never able to push themselves over the top. Every time they would get close, there was always a Julius Erving, Larry Bird, Patrick Ewing, Michael Jordan, or Shaquille O’Neal who managed to outlast them and move on to NBA championships.
